PRODUCT CARE

The specific wash care information for each product is provided on the items page on the care label inside each physical item. These should be strictly followed to ensure the longevity of your self-portrait item. Self-portrait cannot be responsible for damage caused to products where alternative cleaning processes are used.

Some products may come with specific care recommendations and we would advise checking all labels carefully on receipt of your item.

Due to the delicate nature of many of our fabrics, all products should be treated with care when wearing jewellery and accessories. Do not spray perfumes directly onto the fabric, and all perfumes and cosmetics should be fully dry before wearing your items.

To prolong the life of your self-portrait product, ensure products are stored in a cool, dry place and away from direct sunlight. Knitwear should be folded to prevent stretching when hung, and we would recommend hanging delicate lace and chiffon items on padded hangers.

JEWELLERY CARE

Self-Portrait has selected the highest quality materials to create your jewellery which require special handling and care.

Look after your accessory by avoiding contact with water and removing jewellery before strenuous exercise.

Avoid perfumes and cosmetics coming into direct contact with your jewellery as they can lead to discolouration and oxidation.

Avoid contact with abrasive surfaces to minimise deformations or scratches on the surface of the jewellery.

Use a soft cotton cloth or soft tissue to regularly clean your accessory and store in a cool, dry place when not in use. Do not use cloths or towels that have a loose weave as the fibres may get stuck in the jewellery.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR VELVET ITEMS

STORAGE
Store your velvet items in a horizontal position in your closet, ensuring your item is not folded or crushed when stored.

TOP TIP: To maintain shape, you can stuff your item with tissue paper.

NEVER IRON VELVET

The heat & weight of the iron will crush the velvet and can leave scorch marks, which cannot be removed. Instead, use a steamer to remove the creases.

TOP TIP: You may also hang the item in a steam-filled bathroom but ensure your item does not get wet.

REMOVING STAINS

Do not blot the stain on your item, as it will press the velvet pile down which cannot be reversed. Instead, shake any moisture off as quickly as possible and let your item dry naturally.
